Day 1
Arrive Cochin Airport / Railway Station. Our private chauffeur wil receive you and transfer to hotel. Check into hotel and at leisure till noon. After lunch, local sightseeing in and around Cochin ; also known as the "Queen of Arabian Sea". This is one of the finest natural harbors in the World and is one of the major centers for commerce and trade into India. The Sightseeing attraction in Cochin includes Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jewish Street, St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets. Overnight stay.
Day 2
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Thekkady, also know as Periyar. Periyar : known world wide for its wildlife sanctuary and its natural spices like Cardamom, Cinnamon, clove and black pepper. The main touristic attraction in Thekkady is its possibility to view wild life from the safety of motor boat. The boating which will take approximately 2 hours gives you a rare glimpse of wild animal in its natural habitat. Thekkady also promotes adventure tourism like Periyar Tiger Trail, Nature Walk, Bamboo rafting and soft trekking. Spice Plantation tour give one on hand experience to witness and learn the cultivation of various spices of Kerala. Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the southern corner of Kerala, home to some of the most endangered animal species. Some of the well-known denizens of Periyar include the Asiatic wild elephant, distinctive Nilgiri langurs, wild boar, wild dog, bison, sloth bear, gaur deer, sambhar deer, porcupines, leopards and, even a score of tigers! Amongst the avifauna, the most profuse are herons, egrets, darters, kingfishers, grackles and the great Malabar grey hornbill. Rest of the day at leisure to explore Thekkady and surroundings. Overnight stay in at resort.
Day 3
After early breakfast, proceed for Jeep Safari for full day. Jeep Safari Full Day (Gavi) This programme is starting from 06.00 am from Kumily and end at 5:00 pm. The Road leading to the picturesque Gavi is blanketed by tea plantations, which itself is a refreshing experience. Here one can have outstanding trekking experiences, which are over seen by trained local people. The place is rich in flora and fauna. There are hills and valleys, tropical forests, sprawling grass lands, shoals, cascading water falls and cardamom plantations. Endangered species including Nilgiri Thar, Liontaled macaque is often sighted at the outskirts of Gavi. Active involvement of tribals in Gavi makes it a unique venture of its kind in the country. Traditional knowledge of the forest and its way of life helps Gavi to sustain its surroundings in its original state. [ For your information, due to Boating tragedy in Thekkady / Periyar all activities in the lake is indefinitely stopped till further notice, hence we suggest Jeep Safari to GAVI.] Return to resort over dinner and overnight.
Day 4
In the morning proceed to Kumarakom after breakfast. Arrive at Kumarakom, after a journey of approx. 5 hours enjoying the beauty of the traditional Keralian houses. Kumarakom: The queen of Vembanad is a backwater destination of India. Kumarakom, a small village on the edge of Vembanad Lake was an unknown destination unexplored till "Henry Baker" purchased a land from the erstwhile King of Travancore to build bunglow for himself. Kumarakom is a great destination and a houseboat cruise is a must-do activity, for those who visit this backwater destination. A boat cruise on the beautiful Vembanad lake is one of the best ways to enjoy birdwatching in the park. One can also enjoy wildlife photography at Pathiramanal - a small island on the lake. Check in at Hotel. Overnight at Kumarakom.
Day 5
After breakfast, proceed for a visit to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a paradise for migratory birds from all across the globe is a must-visit marvelous with its end number of beautiful rivulets and waterways. The picturesque Vembanad Lake is one of the limited destinations in India surrounded by mangrove forests and paddy fields, which is located below sea level. Moreover, it is claimed to be the best places for bird viewing inside the sanctuary. A large population of bird species are found due to its pleasant climatic condition, make it a great picnic spot. Later at 1200 Noon, check into a traditional houseboat of Kerala Style and go on a leisurely backwater cruise along the lake on a thatched houseboat. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 6
After breakfast, disembark Alleppey Finishing point. Alleppey is known as the rice bowl of Kerala. Here you can enjoy the lively villages and backwaters. Situated very close to the Arabian Sea in the west and bounded with vast network of lakes, lagoons and freshwater rivers, Alleppey is one of the prominent backwater destination ; famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry.
